Eilish discussed the song “Lunch” from her new album, revealing how it played a significant role in her understanding of her own sexuality. “That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” she explained. Despite her openness in her music, Eilish expressed frustration over how her sexuality became public. Initially, she had no intention of discussing it broadly, but circumstances led to her coming out in an interview with Variety last December. As she prepares to release “Hit Me Hard and Soft” on May 17, Eilish is choosing a non-traditional approach by releasing the entire 10-track album simultaneously, deviating from the staggered release strategy of her previous works. This decision underscores her desire to present her artistic expressions holistically, mirroring her journey toward personal authenticity.
